Ultimate Comfort & Fit
At LOWA, comfort and fit are interconnected - because a boot can't be comfortable if it doesn't fit well. We've been at this boot-building business for a while, 85 years to be precise. So it shouldn't be a surprise that we pride ourselves on our boots' fit.
Special touches we build into our boots and shoes to make them feel great:
AWP - Asymmetrical Walking Position
We design the ankle area of men's boots to be set at a 2 degree angle to provide a more balanced stance, less fatigue and an easier overall break-in period. A LOWA exclusive.
C4 Tongue
Anatomically contoured for a natural flex that cradles the foot in comfort.
Legendary Comfort: Glove Leather Linings
We are one of the few boot manufacturers who still builds boots with buttery soft leather linings. We take pride in the extremely high quality of the leather that goes into our boots. We're also proud of our skilled leather cutters, who are among the most experienced workers in our industry.
Leather linings fit close to the foot, creating the next best thing to a custom fit. Many folks, especially those living in hotter drier climates where they don't need GORE-TEX® swear by leather.
GORE-TEX® Lining
LOWA has patented a lasted construction that promotes a better fit, fewer blisters, and of course, waterproof, breathable performance.
Dri-Lex Lining
We use this lining in most boots that don't feature GORE-TEX®. Dri-Lex is a woven nylon that helps move moisture away from the foot for better ventilation and fewer blisters.
3D Mesh
For hiking in very hot and/or humid climates, mesh keeps feet cool and comfortable, allowing air in, keeping rocks and pebbles out.
Monowrap Special Construction
Exclusive to our trail running and outdoor fitness models, this new construction technique wraps the foot in a lightweight, ultra-comfortable, supportive "frame."
Shanks & PU Sole Support
We use full length & width shanks with PU underneath for total underfoot support. The length of shank that's used on depends on the boot's intended use
Derby Cut Lacing
Allows the tongue to rise and fall depending on foot volume, and allows for broader widths than gusset construction.
