We believe in polyurethane (PU). It’s a terrific shock absorber and is the most durable midsole material there is - plus it uses a much cleaner manufacturing process than EVA (we use double molded non-toxic EVA midsoles only when weight is a primary design criterion.)
Combine a LOWA PU midsole with one of VIBRAM®’s acclaimed sole units and you get a double dose of incredible durability, comfort and superb performance underfoot. Like LOWA Boots, VIBRAM® began in the Alps as a response to mountaineers’ needs. Since its inception in 1935, VIBRAM® has become the gold (or should we say bright yellow?) standard for high performance soling products for outdoor footwear.
