Stamford, CT - Camping Life Magazine recently reviewed the LOWA Renegade GTX II Mid Lady commending the company for it's gender-specific lasts and boot construction designed to properly fit a woman's feet.
Read what this reviewer had to say:
"All too often, women’s boots seem to be little more than an after-thought from the manufacturer. Some 'women’s' boots, in fact, seem to be nothing but smaller-sized men’s boots with the word 'lady' embroidered somewhere on the upper.
Lowa is one manufacturer that understands that women want and deserve boots designed especially to fit their feet. The Renegade ll GTX Mid Lady offers a foundation specifically built for a woman’s foot. The 'last' is the foundation of any boot, determining the inner shape of the boot and, by extension, how the boot fits.
The last is matched with water-repellant Nubuck leather uppers and a Cordura nylon ankle band to reduce chafing. A Gore-Tex® liner further enhances the boots’ performance in soggy conditions by adding waterproofing. A Lowa-exclusive Vibram® Vialta outsole provides durability and sticky grip.
That said, even the best-built boot isn’t much good unless its comfort equals its performance, so my wife, Carey, took a pair straight from the box to a three-day test that included miles of hiking on a variety of surfaces, from groomed and paved trails to the rough-and-tumble of the backwoods.
The Renegade ll GTX Mid Lady lived up to its claimed out-of-the-box comfort; and the strength and stability of the Vibram outsole earned particular kudos. The boots’ feather-light weight (1.9 pounds/pair) was even more impressive.
The Renegade ll GTX Mid Lady boots weren’t perfect, though. The tongue on our test pair had to be adjusted each time she slipped into the boots to avoid a small bunching that occurred directly behind a lace eye. That’s the only nit to pick, and it’s nothing that really affected the fit or performance of what quickly became her favorite pair of shoes.
